Hello, I seem to be having trouble with using a USB to boot into Ubuntu.
First things first, I'm very new (roughly three hours new) to Ubuntu. I honestly don't know what I'm doing. I haven't been able to make it function enough to find out... So please, be a little more clear with what I'm supposed to do, I don't have a good understanding of the terms or anything as of yet.
Anyways, enough with the fluff.
I'm able to boot onto the USB just fine. One issue lies in the font, it seems garbled, and often completely illegible (I'll insert a screenshot if I can. It doesn't seem to be uploading.)
And my second issue. This one I just don't get at all.
Ubuntu boots, I'm able to poke around for a few minutes, and suddenly it cuts to black (sometimes for long periods of time, sometimes short) and eventually winds up on the login screen. I never made a user account, so I was a bit puzzled at first. But after some searching, I discovered the login was "ubuntu" and no password.
Sometimes.
Only one of the four or so times I've booted into Ubuntu have I been able to log back on to the desktop (though I was quickly kicked back to the login screen once more)
Every other attempt at logging in has just become a seemingly endless loop, and I have yet to find a clear answer as to how this can be fixed (by a new user).
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.
