I recently installed Ubuntu Studio 14.04.4 64bit on my existing desktop as dual boot. I currently have Win7 which was upgraded to Win10, then downgraded back to Win7. There was an earlier installation of Ubuntu that was in dual boot mode a few years ago, but i have not had a grub menu choice in quite a while (maybe Win10 overwrote it, I don't know). Anyway, before this recent installation of US 14.04.4 64 bit, I would see the system bios go by (raid, etc) in just a few seconds. Now when I reboot, I see the raid, then an ASUS f2 to edit bios message, then a black screen for at least 45 seconds. Then grub menu kicks in.
Should it take that long to bring up grub? How do I troubleshoot to see what the delay is?
Also, one option is Windows 10 -which is really Windows 7. How do I get the name to be Win7 (or os it detecting the OS from the boot information of that drive/device)?
Any pointers would be much appreciated.
