[ubuntu] dual monitor problem in 14.04.4

Just installed 14.04.4 and am trying to setup dual monitors.
Nvidia 960 coected to a Dell U2412
Nvidia 650 coected to a Samsung SA550

Think I've installed Nvidia drivers.

It boots into Ubuntu on the Samsung. Going into Systems settings > Hardware > Displays and tell it to displays all monitors ---> only the Samsung is noted. The Dell monitor goes into an energy savings mode and even when I tu it off and back on, back to energy savings mode.

I've run Ubuntu in the past but please consider me a newbie for now. Thanks for any help!
