Parallels 2x RDP No Longer Works

It's time to revisit this topic again. The last I saw when I searched was 2013.

Parallels 2x RDP no longer installs on Ubuntu 15.10, citing dependency issues. I have not been able to make any of the other RDP clients in Ubuntu work. They all log onto my employer's server without difficulty, but fail to bring up the login screen to access the applications on said server.

For the time being I've switched to Fedora because the .rpm client works fine. Also fyi, my Chrome app Parallels client works ok, just slow as molasses. But the .deb client is now non-functional.

Has anyone been able to get Parallels to work? Suggestions?

ps - My skill level: I'm a 14 yr Linux user and am pretty skilled generally. Not a programmer but can handle basic command line stuff. But I've always been stymied at dealing with complex dependency conflict resolutions. My social worker mind just glazes over with that stuff.
