I just switched from IPS237L-BN (1920×1080) to new Dell P2416D (2560x1440) monitors in a dual setup. And I have the following problem. I get a a message on my monitors stating:"The current input timing is not supported by the monitor. Please change your input timing to 2560×1440, 60Hz or any other monitor listed timing as per the monitor specifications." Effectively I don't see my boot/bios screen or any tty's. I am trying to dual boot ubuntu 14 and windows 10 on my dell xps 9350. They have both been installed and the windows side boots fine. However when I attempt to boot into ubuntu I get the following errorError parsing pcc from pcct subspacesata3.0: exception Emask 0.0I made sure fast boot is off on the windows side and secure boot is off. Hi All. I've recently upgraded to 16.04 and have since been having the above problem. Although, I had similar, intermittent problems with the older version of Ubuntu (14.x). When coecting to my WiFi network, I enter a correct password, the system tries to coect and then asks me for the password again. Obviously, each time I am inputting the correct password. No problem coecting to the router with other devices such as Android phones. I am unable to access the config of the router - locked down by the service provider, so I am unable to change any of the encryption settings that some previous threads have suggested. There are Linux apps to convert, never used them.But the issue really is that Windows only boots in BIOS boot mode from MBR partitioned drives.And Windows only boots in UEFI mode from gpt partitioned drives. (and you need newer UEFI hardware).Ubuntu can boot from gpt with either BIOS or UEFI but with BIOS you must have a 1 or 2MB unformatted partition with the bios_grub flag for BIOS boot or a FAT32 formatted partition as the ESP - efi system partition.Probably best to fully backup and reinstall if you have newer UEFI hardware.I started converting to gpt years ago when I still had XP.
