I get a a message on my monitors stating:"The current input timing is not supported by the monitor. Please change your input timing to 2560×1440, 60Hz or any other monitor listed timing as per the monitor specifications." Effectively I don't see my boot/bios screen or any tty's. Somehow -- I think as an artifact or by-product of my having installed the GNU IceCat web browser -- whenever I drop into the virtual shell, using the Ctrl-Alt-F1 command, what I see displayed at the top of the black screen is:Trisquel GNU/Linux 6.0.1 jbox tty1However, I am not ruing or using Trisquel in any way as far as I'm aware of, and I've deleted everything I could find with that name. What it should say is:Ubuntu 16.04 LTS jbox tty1(or, maybe, "Ubuntu Mate 16.04 LTS jbox tty1").Would anyone know:(a) How it got there, but more importantly,(b) How I should I get rid of it and replace it with the correct name of the OS I'm actually ruing?I'd also like to just make sure there's nothing el...

So the xorg issue with the pointer disappearing has been solved and that is absolutely great! However, I still seem to have a problem with light locker. After suspend, locking the screen or logging out, I see my wallpaper for a second or so, then there is a glitch and tus to the default light blue background. When I change the user to Guest and then back to my account, my wallpaper appears and stays for good.Any ideas as to what might be causing this and/or how to fix it? Let's block ads! بخوانید...

Looking at the persistent live Ubuntu 16.04 LTS system - the Software & Updates screen / Update - I notice, that Automatic updates is set to 'Download and install automatically'. This is bad in a persistent live system. After leaving the persistent live Ubuntu 16.04 LTS system ruing oveight, I found that it had performed an automatic upgrade:df revealed that the content in casper-rw had increased to 1.6 GiB.This is risky: If not enough space (and inodes) in the casper-rw partition or file, the upgrade operation will be incomplete and fail. There might be big problems even if there is space left in casper-rw, and finally, this is wasting the available space, unless you have a huge casper-r...
