I use Ubuntu 16.04 (Unity) on my Dell Inspiron-20-Model-3043 (touch screen).My problem is that the lock screen (ctrl + alt + L) changed to the old style like the one in Ubuntu 10.10, and I don't know why exactly, I don't remember have done anything in particular.maybe it changed after the installation of Unity 8 mir but I didn't notice it until 3 days later so I'm not sure. Hi,My system uses HDMI audio via the optical output on the TV, I am currently using 14.04 LTS and after an upgrade audio stopped working on all apps, youtube, kodi etc. HDMI audio does work on the Left Right test in audio settings and its shown selected, so HDMI audio is not broken as it can work. After ruing the LR test the the DAC shows the HDMI audio link is working as it shows lock, however as soon as an app using audio is started the HDMI audio shuts down as the DAC shows no lock, I saw this on upgrading to 16.04 and I had USB sticks with 14.04 and 16.04 and 16.04 and audio never worked on 16.04, other than the LR test, I went back to 16.04. As the title says my etheet keeps discoecting roughly 5 mins after plugging in the etheet cable. If I plug it out and back in again it works perfectly for another 5 mins. I have a USB to LAN coection when I use that I have no coections whatsoever, it only happens when I plug the etheet cable into the on board etheet port on my laptop. The coection isn't loose and the wire isn't damaged in any way. Any ideas what's causing this? I don't know if this is a Flashback issue or not, but I have this issue on all my Yakkety boxes, which have Flashback installed.When doing an update and clicking show details, UM will give you one line of download information and then 10-15 lines of terminal progress, unless you clicked show details after it downloaded all the files and were already installing them, you only get one line of terminal output. So I've been hosting my Plex Media Server and 2 Mumble Servers off my Main Windows 10 Gaming rig for a while now. I just recently built a new machine and threw Ubuntu 14 on it.All was working fine.. I got mumble working great on it..plex was working fine. I ****ed up some settings with Phpmumbleadmin and for some reason DHCP wasn't picking up an IP address from the Router on the ubuntu machine only. Wifi was fine, and Desktop was fine.I decided i probably screwed up apache or myphpadmin or something and decided to just reinstall Ubuntu.Woohoo it was working again. Installed Plex, started copying files over from my NAS for the Plex files/database, walked away and came back to the same issue!!...

I have two Ubuntu Servers.I want to coect the two machines via etheet.I want to be able to view and transfer files between them.I would prefer to do this without setting up SSH because these machines will not need to receive remote coections over the inteet.The machines will coect to the inteet for updates... but it is not necessary for what I'm trying to do.I've viewed https://askubuntu.com/questions/2283...thout-a-router and was able to setup the IPv4 setup and have my machines ping each other, but was not able to coect and transfer files.I was able to setup a basic SSH server and use the Nautilus coect to server facility to successfully do what I want to do.
