Greetings!I managed to install ubuntu (16.04) on my working PC, after couple hours of surfing the web my inteet coection lost. So i decided to do this Code: sudo dhclient -r sudo dhclient After these commands Gods of the inteet blessed me again(Got google working again), and i tried to coect to previous webpages > but failed, tried to open different ubuntu communities > failed,( only main (this one) worked well) almost 80% of the web pages won't open to me from THAT moment, and also can't install ANY program VIA terminal Code: 0% [Coecting to ua.archive.ubuntu.com (82.144.192.7)] after doing Code: dhclient -r i'm getting messages "RTNETLINK FILE EXISTS" (maybe this is the evil roots i lookin...

I've been using 14.04, and just used the upgrade command.Things happened, it asked me if I wanted to keep my grub config file or use the new one.I chose to use the new one. It sat for a while, then rebooted.On reboot, it brings up a GNU GRUB version 2.02 beta2-9ubuntu1.12 label at the top, with a grub prompt.Nothing works now.Does anybody know how to get past this??? The 5th May result is not relevant. Not because it is for trusty and not xenial but in trusty you had enabled the repositories for the source code and also some PPAs as well as extras which are not enabled in the xenial installation.I am guessing that the update utility has some way of knowing if a repository has had changes made to the software in the repository. If no changes have been made then there is no point is downloading the list of software in the repository to compare it with the software packages installed on the system to determine which specific packages can be upgraded.This might or might not be a new thing for xenial. Certainly things have moved on for Apt in xenial. Although...

On Ubuntu 14.04 I didsudo apt-get purge oracle-java8-jdkand not only was the jdk8 removed but openjdk7 was installed. JDK7 wasn't shown in the options given bysudo update-alteatives --config javabefore the purge.The apt-get purge also removed a couple of other packages which we create in house.Why did apt-get purge install openjdk7? I was using Debian on my computer and I love the game supertuxkart. So since I previously reinstalled Debian, I was downloading supertuxkart off the ubuntu package site(packages.ubuntu.com). I was installing the dependency libstdc++6 from the ubuntu version and it gave a broken dependency. If I try to fix it says it will remove everything. If I try to fix that, it can't because there is a broken dependency. I usually have to reinstall at least once a week but this was the time I almost got everything to work perfectly. After having had problems with the above mentioned wifi adapter I finally found a work around to get it ruing and thought I'd share it.The problem had been, that the Realtek drivers which came with the wireless LAN adapter compiled fine (driver version rtl8821AU_linux_v4.3.14_13455.20150212_BTCOEX20150 128-51, keel version 3.2.0-3-686-pae) and installed, but the adapter was only recognized as USB not as wifi adapter.With help from an older thread here in the forum, I had a look to 'modinfo 8821au' which included a list of aliases the driver would work for.Unfortunately, mine was not among them, a 'lsusb' showed "Bus 002 Device 006: ID 0bda:a811 Realtek Semiconductor Corp." for my adapter.Hav...

Hi,I am using debian 7.10, and I have been using it for 2 years.I remember that it updated and upgraded correctly last week, but when I didapt-get update 2 days ago, it won't respond. It doesn't show any error message, but there is no response at all.
