Hi.Yesterday I did a clean install of 16.04.1 LTS 64bit Xubuntu on an HP Elitebook 2560p after previously ruing 14.04.Everything was fine including networking and after installing favourite apps and reloading backed up data I created a link to my Windows PC as I had previously with 14.04. Hello everyone,I was trying to install Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS on a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop (2GB RAM, 2.3 GHz processor). I already have Windows installed with an un-allocated space of 258 GB after the Windows C: drive. During installation, I just used a part of the free space (around 120 GB) and partitioned it into three halves:- 2 GB for swap- 100 GB for /home and- 18 GB for /During installation, I got notified that the swap partition could not be created and the installation aborted. This was erroneously marked as solved by an admin so I'm reposting it: I'm trying to install a 3rd party .deb file. When I double click it, the software center opens and I click the Install button. After doing so, the Insall button then says "Installing...", the progress bar goes quickly over to about 10% and then disappears entirely and then the Install button is just there again to click. It won't install for some reason. If anyone knows a way around this or if I'm doing something wrong, any info would be most appreciated. Download the Winamp preset EQ's2. Open up terminal3. wget http://www.xmms.org/misc/winamp_presets.gz4. To install the presets for the Audacious media player type:gunzip -c winamp_presets.gz > ~/.config/audacious/eq.preset5. When a version of Ubuntu reaches end of life there are no more updates and the software repositories are closed and archived on other servers. So, the URLs in the sources list become inaccurate and error messages are given when trying to update.The only versions of Ubuntu still receiving support are 12.04, 14.04, 15.10 & 16.04.
