As to your situation ... seems you have gone where you should not have in attempting to install sigil .

That package is wily/ , xenial/ , and devel/ NOT trusty. Installing the advanced package there is no telling now what advanced libraries have been installed to support sigil that has no support in the trusty install:
http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntuhandb.../ubuntu/dists/

Maybe:
disable the sigil source in the source file and now what results:

sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo dpkg -C
